To help answer this, we surveyed over 1,500 eBay buyers and another 2,000 general online shoppers to better understand their shopping intent around the New Year and major Q1 shopping moments.
Around 89% of the eBay buyers surveyed plan to continue shopping after the winter holiday season. Priorities shift for eBay buyers after the holiday season. While shopping for families is still important (66%), our buyers are twice as likely to shop for themselves compared to other online shoppers. We know 56% of self-gifters are ready to take advantage of post holiday and new years sales. This means sellers should remain competitive with pricing well into the New Year and continue to take advantage of marketing and advertising tools available to them like our Promoted Listings portfolio to help boost listing visibility and drive sales.
